Chicken Cheesesteak Recipe

A delicious and economical alternative to its more traditional beef sibling, a chicken cheesesteak is popular member of the Philly family. Juicy, thinly sliced light meat piled onto a fresh long roll, complemented by grilled onions and a blanket of melted white American cheese.

Ingredients

Serving Amount: 1 serving

4 oz.Original Philly® Chicken Sandwich Slices, 4 oz
1 Ea.Provolone cheese slices
1 Tbsp.Onion, sliced
2 Tbsp.Red and green bell pepper, sliced
1 Ea.Long Italian roll

 

Directions

Step 1: Place frozen portion of chicken on a preheated flat grill (350°F).

Step 2: After the portion has cooked through about half its thickness, flip the portion once.

Step 3: As the chicken slices begin to cook, separate them with a spatula. Chicken should have an evenly brown appearance when completely cooked.

Step 4: Remove chicken from the grill.

Step 5: Sauté sliced onion and pepper until tender.

Step 6: Return chicken to the grill and mix with onion and pepper.

Step 7: Use spatula to arrange meat mixture in a row approximately the length of the roll.

Step 8: Lay two slices of cheese on top of the chicken and melt.

Step 9: Place an open-faced roll over the chicken and using a spatula, turn sandwich to an up-facing position.
