Tangy Chicken Pita Recipe

Spice up your pita offerings! Feature a Tyson Red Label® Authentically Crispy Spicy Chicken Breast Filet on a warm pita with a layer of garlic hummus, complemented with feta cheese crumbles, pickled red onion and fresh greens tossed in lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil.


SERVINGS: 1 Chicken Pita

1 EA. Tyson Red Label® Authentically Crispy Spicy Chicken Breast Filet
To Taste Lemon juice, fresh
As NeededExtra virgin olive oil 
2 OZ.Fresh greens
2 EA.Pita bread, medium size
2 TBSP.Garlic hummus, commercially prepared
As NeededPickled red onion, prepared
4 EA.Cucumber, slices
As NeededFeta cheese, crumbles

Step 1 - Deep Fry: PREPARATION: Appliances vary, adjust accordingly. Cook from frozen. To prepare Tyson® Authentically Crispy Spicy Chicken Breast Filet, preheat cooking oil to 350°F. From frozen, place filet in a fryer basket, submerge in oil, and shake basket. Cook the product for 7.5 minutes until product reaches at least 165°F internal temperature. Remove from oil, slice in half and set aside.

Step 2 - Combine lemon juice, olive oil and fresh greens in mixing bowl; toss until fully dressed.

Step 3 - To Make Each Pita: Spread 1 Tbsp. hummus on pita bread, followed by the tossed green mix, red onion, cucumber slices, feta cheese, and half of chicken filet. Fold pita in half and repeat steps for second pita. Serve immediately.
