Grilled Chicken Hot Brown Recipe

Inspire your lunch or dinner with this open-faced sandwich featuring Tyson® Flavor-Redi® Fully Cooked Unbreaded Grilled Chicken Breast Filets with broiled tomato and smothered in French Mornay sauce and topped with crispy, thick-cut hickory smoked bacon.

Ingredients

AMOUNTMAIN INGREDIENTS
2 ea.Roma Tomatoes sliced to 1/4 inch
1 ea.Sourdough Bread, sliced thick, 1/2 - 3/4 inch
8 tsp.Unsalted Butter Softened
1 ea.Tyson® Flavor-Redi® Fully Cooked Unbreaded Grilled Chicken Breast Filets, 4.5 oz., sliced
1/4 CupWhite Sharp Cheddar Cheese - Shredded
5 Tbsp.Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese - Grated
2 ea.Wright® Brand Naturally Hickory Smoked Thick Sliced Bacon
1/4 tsp.Fresh Flat Leaf Parsley - Chopped
1/8 tsp.Ground Paprika
2 CupsWhole Milk - Prepared
2 Tbsp.All Purpose Flour
1 CupWhit Sharp Cheddar Cheese - Grated
1/8 tsp.Fresh Nutmeg - Grated
1/8 tsp.Hot sauce (commercially available)
1 tsp.Kosher Salt
1/2 tspGround Black Pepper
Directions

Step 1: Place milk in the microwave and heat for 90 seconds.

Step 2: In a medium sauce pan over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp. butter.

Step 3: Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.

Step 4: Gradually whisk in the hot milk. Cook until the sauce starts to simmer and is thickened, whisking almost constantly, about 3-5 minutes.

Step 5: Remove from the heat and whisk in 1/4 cup cheese until melted. Season with nutmeg, salt, pepper and hot sauce.

Step 6: Pre-heat oven to broil.

Step 7: Arrange the tomato slices on a baking sheet and drizzle with a little oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Broil for 1-2 minutes per side until slightly charred.

Step 8: Butter both sides of the bread slices with 2 tsp. of softened butter per slice.

Step 9: Place buttered bread slices on a foil-lined baking sheet.

Step 10: Toast under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, then flip and toast the other side.

Step 11: Top each toasted bread slice with sliced Tyson® Flavor-Redi® Fully Cooked Unbreaded Grilled Chicken Breast Filets and broiled tomato slices.

Step 12: Then top each portion with 3 oz. mornay sauce, sharp white cheddar cheese and Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Step 13: Broil for 2-3 minutes.

Step 14: Transfer to plates, top with bacon slices and sprinkle with paprika and parsley.

Step 15: Serve as needed with a side of steak fries.
