Tequila Braised Pork Carnitas Recipe

These pork carnitas tacos bring a ton of flavor with just a few unique ingredients. Take tequila, tomato paste, chilies, salt and pepper to make a tangy braising liquid. Ingredients

1 EA. Pork Shoulder (about 4-5 LB.) 
1/2 CUPTequila 
5 EA. Dry Red Chilies, Rehydrated 
2 TSP. Smoked Salt 
1/2 TSP. Black Pepper 
1/2 CUPTomato Paste 
Directions

Step 1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

Step 2. In a food processor, blend tequila, chilies, salt, black pepper and tomato paste until desired consistency is reached.

Step 3. Place pork shoulder on a roasting pan and rub the chili and tomato mixture all over the pork shoulder.

Step 4. Cook in the oven until the pork is tender, about 2 to 3 hours. Shred pork and serve immediately.
