Monte Cristo Dog Recipe

Get inspired with an incredibly delicious take on a classic Monte Cristo featuring Ball Park® Three Meat Hot Dogs, topped with Swiss cheese, chunky strawberry jam and crispy fried funnel cake bits topped with powdered sugar and served between a warm toasted brioche hot dog roll.

Funnel Cake Batter

Serving Amount: 34 Oz

20 OzBatter, Funnel Cake, Prepared
14 OzWater, Tap, Room-Temp
¼ tsp.Spice, Cinnamon, Ground
Directions

Step 1: Pre-heat Roller Grill.  

Step 2: Set Roller Grill to heat and set tempered Ball Park® Three Meat Hot Dogs on Roller Grill.  

Step 3: Heat the links for 18-20 minutes.  

Step 4: Then set Roller Grill temperature to warm.  

Step 5: Place brioche hot dog rolls onto a clean worksurface.

Step 6: Sprinkle Swiss cheese across the entire bun and place under a pre-heated broiler to melt cheese.

Step 7: Remove from broiler and place a Ball Park® Three Meat Hot Dog on top of the melted Swiss cheese.

Step 8: Top Ball Park® Three Meat Hot Dog with chunky strawberry jam and crispy funnel cake bits.

Step 9: Sprinkle the entire dish with powdered sugar.

Step 10: Serve as needed.

Sub Recipe Directions

Funnel Cake Batter

Step 1: Pre-heat deep fryer to 350-degree F.

Step 2: Blend mix and water together using a wire whisk until well-blended.

Step 3: Place batter into a squeeze bottle.

Step 4: Slowly drizzle the batter into the fryer creating small bite-size pieces of funnel cake.

Step 5: Fry bits until golden brown.

Step 6: Remove from fryer and drain off excess oil.

Step 7: Use as needed.

ALTERNATIVE COOKING METHODS – for Ball Park® Beef Hot Dogs, 5:1, Frozen

1.     Boil: Heat Franks to an internal temperature of 165°F; hold at 165°F for 1 minute before serving; hold at 135°F or higher for a maximum of 4 hours. Note: Due to variances in cooking equipment heating times are approximate and may require adjustment. Boil Cover Franks with water. Bring to a boil. Boil 4-6 minutes or until Franks reach an internal temperature of 165°F.

2.     Grill: Heat Franks to an internal temperature of 165°F; hold at 165°F for 1 minute before serving; hold at 135°F or higher for a maximum of 4 hours. Note: Due to variances in cooking equipment heating times are approximate and may require adjustment. Grill Use medium heat, 6-10 minutes. Turn often; if frozen, thaw first.
