Caprese Breakfast Flatbread

Hillshire Farm® Chicken Apple Sausage with slices of fresh mozzarella, basil leaves, tomato slices, fresh eggs, smashed avocado and drizzled with aged balsamic syrup.



3-4 ozHillshire Farm® Chicken Apple Sausage, grilled and carved on the ½” bias
1 eachMultigrain flatbread crust 10”
5 ozAvocado, fresh, smashed and seasoned
9 slicesRoma tomatoes, slices 1/3” thick
6 slicesMozzarella, fresh, slices ¼” thick
2 TbspBasil leaves, fresh, torn
1 TbspBalsamic syrup

Step 1

Preheat an oven to 400°.

Step 2

Grill Chicken Apple Sausage, then slice in ½" pieces and reserve warm.

Step 3

Top the multigrain flatbread with the fresh slices of mozzarella cheese, carved chicken apple sausage and crack the 2 eggs onto the flatbread (try not to bust that yolk).  Place in the oven for 7-10 minutes until eggs are cooked to an overeasy-like state and the flatbread is crisp.

Step 4

Once the cheese is melted and eggs are cooked, remove from the oven and generously deposit the smashed avocado over the flatbread.

Step 5

Add the basil leaves and the tomatoes.

Step 6

Drizzle the whole flatbread with balsamic syrup and sprinkle with red pepper flakes, if desired.
