Shakshuka Flatbread Recipe

Enhance your tastebuds with this unique North African style dish. Add bold and flavorful sausage crumbles paired with an authentic and savory Shakshuka style tomato sauce, green peppers, onions, light shredded Manchego cheese, and garnished with parsley.

Ingredients

4 oz.Jimmy Dean® Fully Cooked Pork Sausage Patties, Crumbled
1 ea.Flatbread Crust
2 oz.Shakshuka Sauce (Sub-Recipe)
2 oz.Onions - Thinly Sliced
3 oz.Manchego Cheese - Shredded
GarnishParsley - Flat Leaf Rough Chopped

Shakshuka Sauce

AMOUNTMAIN INGREDIENTS
2 oz. Olive Oil 
1 ea. Yellow Onion - Medium and Diced, 1/4"
1 ea. Red Bell Pepper - Seeded and Diced 1/4”  
4 ea. Garlic Cloves - Fresh Minced Or Micro Planed
1 Tbsp. Paprika (Regular, Smoked Or Spicy)
2 tsp. Cumin 
1/2 tsp. Chile Powder 
1/2 tsp. Ginger - Ground
1/8 tsp. Cinnamon 
1/8 tsp. Fire Roasted Diced Tomato - Canned 
To taste Salt and Pepper  
1/4 CupsFresh Cilantro - Chopped
1/4 CupsFresh Parsley - Chopped
Directions

Step 1: Place the shakshuka sauce (Sub-Recipe) on the flatbread crust followed by the manchego cheese, onions, peppers, and chorizo crumbles.

Step 2: Preheat oven to 375°F and cook until flatbread is bubbly and golden.

Step 3: Once flatbread is out of the oven garnish with parsley.

Sub-Recipe Directions

Shakshuka Sauce

Step 1: In a large pan, sauté the peppers and onions with olive oil until translucent.

Step 2: Add garlic and spices and cook an additional minute.

Step 3: Pour tomatoes and liquid into the pan. 

Step 4: Season with salt and pepper and bring the sauce to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes.

Step 5: Remove from the heat.

Step 6: Stir in the cilantro and parsley.

Step 7: Hold warm and covered.
