Tikka Burger Recipe

This is a unique alternative to regular burgers and a great way to enjoy that Indian tikka flavor. It starts with a rich, creamy, curry tikka sauce that’s spread on a toasted burger bun. Add The PUB® Flame Grilled Beef Steak Burger, lettuce, and tomato and top with the fresh mint yogurt for an Indian burger spin.

10 ea.Brioche Bun
10 oz.Bibb Lettuce, Whole Leaves
10 ea.Tomato, Sliced

Tikka Sauce

2 CupsTomato, Canned Diced
1 CupCoconut Milk
1 CupOnion, Fresh Small Diced
¼ CupGarlic, Fresh Minced
2 Tbsp.Canola, or a neutral cooking oil
2 Tbsp.Tomato Paste
1 tsp.Curry Powder
1 Tbsp.Cumin, Ground
1 tsp.Ginger, Powder
½ tsp.Cinnamon, Powder
1 tsp.Cayenne, Powder

Mint Yogurt

 
1 CupGreek Yogurt, Nonfat Plain
¼ CupLemon Juice
¼ CupMint, Fresh Chopped
Directions

Step 1 - Tikka Sauce: In a sauce pot over medium heat add canola, garlic, and onion. Cook until translucent. Add the diced tomato, coconut milk and bring to a simmer. Whisk in tomato paste and spices. Simmer for 15-20 minutes. Sauce should be thick like a gravy or marinara sauce. Chill and hold cold for service

Step 2 - Mint Yogurt: – In a small bowl mix yogurt, lemon juice and mint.

Step 3 - Preheat convection oven to 350°F. On a foil-lined sheet tray, lay The PUB® Steak Burger patties flat in a single layer and cook from frozen. Bake for 11-12 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165F. Hold hot for hot service.

To Build Burger:

Toast burger bun and spread 1 Tbsp. tikka sauce on bottom bun.

  • Add burger patty, lettuce, and tomato. Top with 1 Tbsp. mint yogurt and top bun.
