Elote Dog Recipe

Elevate your menu with this delicious and authentic Mexican elote street corn dog, which is one of the most popular street foods in Mexico featuring Ball Park® Beef Hot Dog served on a warm toasted lobster style bun with a creamy Mexican street corn salad, spicy hot sauce, crumbled cotija cheese and freshly picked cilantro.

Elote Salad

Serving Amount: 16 Oz

14 OzFire-Roasted Corn & Jalapeno Blend, (Commercially Available)
1 TbspGarlic, Clove, Fresh, Pld, Minced
2 OzCrema, Mexican (Commercially Available)
2 OzMayonnaise, Heavy, Prepared
1 TbspLime, Juice, Fresh
½ tsp.Spice, Chili, Powder, Dry
Directions

Step 1: Pre-heat roller grill.

Step 2: Set Roller Grill to heat and set tempered hot dogs on the roller grill.

Step 3: Heat the links for 18-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165F.

Step 4: Then set Roller Grill temperature to warm.

Step 5: Place split top roll onto a clean worksurface.

Step 6: Spread elote salad down the center of the split top roll.

Step 7: Place one Ball Park® Angus Beef Franks on top of the elote salad.

Step 8: Sprinkle entire frank with cotija cheese and freshly picked cilantro.

Step 9: Serve as needed with hot sauce on the side.

Sub Recipe Directions

Elote Salad

Step 1: Spread fire roasted corn onto a parchment lined sheet pan.

Step 2: Bake fire roasted corn at 350°F for 8-13 minutes.

Step 3: Remove from oven and allow to cool.

Step 4: Once corn has cooled, place a stainless bowl onto a clean worksurface.

Step 5: Place all ingredients into the stainless bowl.

Step 6: Fold all ingredients together to well combined.

Step 7: Serve as needed.

ALTERNATIVE COOKING METHODS 

1.     Boil: Heat Franks to an internal temperature of 165°F; hold at 165°F for 1 minute before serving; hold at 135°F or higher for a maximum of 4 hours. Note: Due to variances in cooking equipment heating times are approximate and may require adjustment. Boil Cover Franks with water. Bring to a boil. Boil 4-6 minutes or until Franks reach an internal temperature of 165°F.

2.     Grill: Heat Franks to an internal temperature of 165°F; hold at 165°F for 1 minute before serving; hold at 135°F or higher for a maximum of 4 hours. Note: Due to variances in cooking equipment heating times are approximate and may require adjustment. Grill Use medium heat, 6-10 minutes. Turn often; if frozen, thaw first.
