Cheese and Sausage Toastie

Country style Metts sausage, green onion and Monterey Jack cheese toasted sandwich


Step 1

Preheat a non-stick griddle pan, over medium heat, on the stovetop.

Step 2

Lightly butter one side of each piece of bread. Place buttered side down on pan and top each with a slice of Monterey Jack cheese.

Step 3

Cut grilled or brown sausage into long 1/2 inch, thick bias cut slices. On one piece, arrangeheated sausage into a flat layer. Sprinkle on thinly cut green onions evenly.

Step 4

Gently lift corner of bread to check for browning. When golden brown, place cheese side down on the piece of bread with sausage, then press lightly.

Step 5

Lower heat to medium-low and turn as needed to thoroughly melt the cheese.

Step 6

Remove from heat and allow the Cheese and Sausage Toastie to cool for 1 minute. Cut and serve immediately.
