Bacon Bao

Crispy/Smokey – BACON in a soft steamed bao bun with sliced mini cucumbers, hoisin sauce, wasabi mayo, black sesame seeds with a crunchy Asian slaw

Ingredients

SERVES: 4 Bao

2 slices, cut in half

Wright® Brand Bacon, 8/10, 15lbs #10000042937

4 ea.

Bao Buns, steamed

2 tsp.

Hoisin Sauce

2 tsp.

Wasabi Mayo

1/8 tsp

Black Sesame Seeds

3 oz.

Asian Slaw (including Nappa Cabbage, carrots,

12 ea.

Cucumber, mini’s, 1/16” rounds

Directions
  1. Thaw the Bacon overnight in refrigerator.
  2. Pre heat convection oven to 425F
  3. Lay half the Bacon slices flat on a sheet pan in a single layer then cook for 10-12 minutes or until crispy.  Cut in half and reserve warm.
  4. On a small square of parchment paper or wax paper, placed the steamed bao buns.
  5. Smear approx. ¼ tsp across the bottom of the bun.
  6. Top each with ¾ oz. of an Asian inspired slaw.
  7. Shingle out 3 cucumber slices, drizzle with tasted sesame mayo and garnish with black sesame seeds
